Event Experience

In 2010 and 2011 I took a gap year travelling.

For four months I took time out of my travels to earn some money working in the outback at the local roadhouse.

Whilst there I discovered they has a local rugby team called the Condamine Cods.

They already had an individual who provided first aid for the team, but they were kind enough to help me assist on match days with pre-event treatment including teaching them a little about taping and providing first aid throughout the game.

When in the outback due to fixture locations being so remote there was always an ambulance on standby if required.

Between the periods of August 2012 and May 2016 I was first team physio for Malmesbury Victoria Football Club.

I would do any pre match treatments, half time treatment and provide first aid when players suffered an injury during the game.

I would also be on hand to offer advice for rehabilitation exercises for injured players whether this was a long-term problem or a reoccurring issue.

Prior to this I had stints with Minety Football Club and again also with Malmesbury Victoria Football Club.

2018 Body Mechanics Malmesbury attended Boondocks music festival. Here Body Mechanics Malmesbury offered a selection of treatments at a reduced rate to festival goers. This was a great experience and I look forward to doing more in the future.

In the summer of 2019 Body Mechanics Malmesbury assisted with a charity fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground in Royal Wootton Bassett. Body Mechanics Malmesbury was there providing treatments to all participants throughout the day taking part in the Dyson football marathon.

Body Mechanics Malmesbury supported this event by offering a massage service and taping and strapping of any injuries. Body Mechanics Malmesbury spent most of the day providing massage to participants at the event to enable them to carry on playing. Many of the participants were suffering from tight aching muscles or cramp. Having had a massage, participants were able to continue with the event with the cramping sensation gone and muscles feeling more relaxed. Body Mechanics Malmesbury offered kinesiology taping for treatment of joints and muscles to assist participants performance and improve their mobility. Massage was also available post event to assist the recovery process, to reduce the effects of lactic acid build up (DOMS) and reduce aching the next day.

For the past eight years Body Mechanics Malmesbury has been lucky enough to attend a weekend of football at Castle Combe Colts Football Club.

The tournament has ages ranging from mini kickers all the way up to under 16s.

Body Mechanics Malmesbury is solely there to provide first aid to anyone who needs it.

Whether this is participants, supporters or event officials.

I look forward to returning this year and many years to come.

Here Body Mechanics Malmesbury has treated anything from a small graze to the more serious types of injury.

Body Mechanics Malmesbury has also attended Malmesbury Youth football tournament on a couple of occasions, offering first aid to participants, supporters or event officials.

Body Mechanics Malmesbury is available for pre-event, during and post event massages and first aid at all sporting events.

If you have an event coming up, please get in touch.
